Featured player: Rim Nakamura

I’ll introduce a BMX, who is Rim Nakamura.  He was born in 2002 in Kyoto.  His name Rim results from BMX parts.  Why did his parents name him after BMX parts.  The reason is his parents manage a BMX shop, so his name is Rim.

He started to ride when he was 3 years old.  He is 17 years old now, but he has had many satisfactory results.  He won a major Japan event.  And he received some prizes in foreign countries, when he was only 14 years old.  Furthermore , at the“Hiroshima 2019 BMX Freestyle Park” held in April 2019, he won the second place which was the first time for a Japanese.

Recently, he appeared on the TV. He was attracted by society in this Japan. That’s why he is the favorite to win the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 in the BMX freestyle.  In the freestyle, it’s important to do tricks in the air.  To do tricks in the higher is one step to win.  He looks like to fly in the air.  In the future, he will go on to bigger a world in BMX.  And BMX riders and skateboarders will increase gradually.

My favorite BMX rider : yumingrow

I’ll introduce my favorite BMX rider.  But I don’t know his real name.  I and my BMX friend call him Yumingrow because his Instagram account name is yumingrow.  The information we have is that  he is male, his name is yumingrow and his BMX skill is so cool.

The first time I saw his on was Instagram.  When I saw his tricks, I was fascinated by him. His tricks are creative and he has a unique riding style.  Furthermore he does some tricks which we have never seen. I think everything built in town is for him.  For example, a small step,  a big stair and a big wall,   are like toys for him.

The Tokyo Olympics will be held in 2020, and BMX is added to the event.  But I think Yumingrow doesn’t think to participate in the Olympics.  He does the tricks that he wants to do.  His tricks fascinate a lot of people.  He is recognized for his technique and uniqueness. And he is the official rider of the brand, Fit.  Please check his videos.  You’ll be fascinated by his skills.

My favorite skater: Shinpei Ueno

I’ll introduce a man who is a Japanese skateboarder.  He is Shinpei Ueno.  His skateboarding style and his videos display originality.  He was born in Osaka.  He encountered skateboarding was when he was in elementary school.  One day he went to a warehouse and there was a skateboard in there.  But his friends gradually stopped doing skateboarding.

Recently skateboarding was chosen to bean official event of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.  Then skateboarders are seen as a pro riders by the public now but Shinpei Ueno often skateboards on the street to take a video as a pro rider. The public said, “The Professional riders don’t play such around here.  You are causing trouble for other professional riders.” But he doesn’t care. He talked “Street style is something that involves inevitability and necessity.”  And he loves and follows the good old skateboard culture on the street.

I found his video on Instagram.  This video makes me feel impressed.  I’m not good at doing skateboarding, so I admire  him.  My favorite of his skills is the nose manual.  If you have time,  you should watch the video.  He loves doing skateboarding on the street.  Certainly there is a possibility a  dangerous incident, but the players enjoy the skateboarding.

badass : skatebording

I`ll introduce skateboarding culture this time.  The men in the phot is one of the coolest skaters.  His name is Tony Alva.  He was born on September 2, 1957 in Santa Monica, California. He is a member of the Z-Boys.  This team is a skateboarding team.  Other members are Stacy Peralta, Jay Adams and Jim muir.   They are legend of the skateboarding.  I think Tony Alva is the coolest among them, because he is one of the skaters that has revolutioned the surfing style.  Have you seen skateboarding on dog bowl ?  Dog bowl is for skateboarding and it`s like a place where water is drained from the pool.  Z-boys and Tony Alva started this style.  Furthermore he launched the brand "Alva skateboarders" when he was 19 years old.  This brand is still loved by skaters.  And recently he has been seleced as the "30 people who have had the most influence on the skateboard industry".  And his life and Z-Boys story were made into a movie.  The movie is " Lords Of Dogtown".If you have an interest , you shold see this movie.  You can learn more about Tony Alva and Z-Boys.

BMX rider : Shuhei Nomura

Hello everyone.  In the last post I introduced Daichi Teshigawara.  Did you check his movies on Instagram or Youtube ?  This time I will introduce a man. Do you know him?  Certainly you know, right?  That's right.  He is Shuhei Nomura.

He is a famous actor in Japan. He was born on November , 14 in Hyogo and he is 26 years old.  He is quarter between Japan and China.  Before he plays BMX,  he was playing snoebording.  Then he started BMX as a hobby. Moreover his acting is expert.  However his BMX skill is also expert as much as any professional. 

He has been playing BMX for 9 to 10 years. His playing period is not longer than the other professional players.  After all he has a brilliant talent.  I also want to get a brilliant talent.  But even he couldn't be an expert without a lot of practicing.  I decided I would follow his practice.


He often appears at W-BASE a BMX shop in Shibuya.  So I can watch his skills before my eyes.  Moreover to  play BMX with smeone's ideal for BMX riders is a delightful thing.  Someday I want to play BMX with Nomura Shuhei.

BMX : I’m crazy about it

Do you know BMX? It’s a competition where motorcycle rides perform various techniques such as jumping. I first saw this in the Spring of 2017. I knew the existence of BMX , I was longing for it, but the price was high and I couldn’t buy it. But I met a guy who was interested in BMX like me. The conversation was exciting and he went to see BMX at a shop. Then he bought it. As soon as I went to see it , I knew what he bought. The coolest one I’ve seen ever. Of course I bought it right away. So I started to do BMX.

The first thing I said is that BMX is jumping and doing a lot of kinds tricks, but actually, you need a lot of patience and practice. That is him, Daichi Teshigawara. I was told about him by the store clerk when I bought a BMX. I thought he was really cool. Soon I became a his fan. Daichi Teshigawara is also active overseas and of course his BMX skill is pretty amazing. He was born in Nagoya on August 24,1995. He has been playing BMX since he was small. I thought he had amazing talent to be so good even when he started in childhood. Even if you don’t know BMX well, if you look at his technique, you will definitely be excited.
